The ABS Compact Shovel is a lightweight and functional avalanche rescue tool built around a clever three-section design that nests the blade and shaft together without the need to fully disassemble the shovel. This compact design significantly reduces the overall volume, freeing up valuable space in your avalanche backpack and making it easy to deploy when needed.

Constructed from durable aluminum alloy 6063, this shovel combines strength and low weight — an essential balance for backcountry safety gear. Its streamlined form makes it ideal for ski touring, backcountry skiing, high-alpine travel, and snow profile testing during avalanche safety assessments. Whether you’re probing a suspected slide zone or digging out in an emergency, the Compact Shovel is designed to be quick to access and easy to use.
