The Black Diamond Oval Keylock Screwgate Carabiner is a premium locking carabiner designed for climbers who require reliability, safety, and ease of use. Its oval, symmetrical shape ensures optimal rope and gear handling; it prevents shifting when racked with other gear. The screw-gate locking mechanism adds security in critical applications, and the Keylock, snag-free nose facilitates smooth clipping and unclipping, reducing the risk of gear snagging on the gate.

Made from 7075 aluminium with ~25% pre-consumer recycled material, this carabiner balances strength and weight. It has a generous gate opening (~19 mm) for easier clipping, even with bulky gloves. Strength ratings: ~23 kN in major (closed) axis, ~9 kN minor axis, and ~7 kN open gate—meaning it performs well even under high load or less ideal orientations. Its weight (~63 g) makes it robust without being excessively heavy. Whether for alpine routes, traditional climbs, or as safe gear in aid climbing, this carabiner delivers performance, durability, and safety.
