The SILVA Field Compass – Case of 28 is a set of 28 baseplate compasses designed specifically for group use. The practical protective carry case features an individual slot for each compass, providing convenient storage, organisation and transportation of the equipment.
The SILVA Field is simple to use and is particularly suitable for beginners, students and anyone learning the fundamentals of orienteering and map navigation. Its baseplate design allows the compass to be used directly on a map for determining direction and measuring distances.
The compass is both waterproof and shockproof, making it suitable for outdoor use. Updated graphics and colours provide improved visibility and make the key compass features easier to read.
The soft Dryflex bezel provides a comfortable and secure grip. Integrated map-measuring scales allow measurements in millimetres and support map scales of 1:50,000 and 1:25,000.
The compass uses a sapphire jewel bearing for smooth, friction-free movement of the compass needle. The scales and graduations are applied using durable hot-stamping technology, while the rounded baseplate provides comfortable handling.
Patented red and black orienting lines inside the compass housing help users correctly orient the compass. A declination scale is also integrated inside the capsule.
Each compass is supplied with a detachable safety-release lanyard. The complete set is particularly suitable for school classes, outdoor and sports groups, orienteering clubs and practical navigation training.
This model is the MS (Magnetic South) version, calibrated for use in the Southern Magnetic Hemisphere.
