Our path to sustainable development

1% for the Planet

As a member of 1% for the Planet organization, Basecamp donates 1% of it’s annual turnover to fight climate change. So far, we have donated over 50 000 BGN with the help of which many successful projects have been implemented with Bulgarian environmental organizations addressing problems at local level and efforts to preserve the Bulgarian nature and animal world.

1% for the Planet is a global network of companies, which donate 1% of their annual income back to the environment. The collected funds are directed to various non-governmental organizations that fight against pollution of forests, oceans and rivers, protect the land and seek ways of sustainable development of agriculture and energy. The organization was established in 2002 by two businessman – Patagonia’s founder Yvon Chuoinard and Blue Ribbon Flies owner – Craig Mathews and it meets those who know how and by what means to fight for the preservation of our Blue Planet, and those who have the financial resources to do so.

Everyone can become a member of 1% for the Planet - both legal entities and individuals, and they can donate their 1% to the causes that are most important to themselves. There are many NGOs approved by 1% for the Planet, and donations are made directly to them.

Climate change is a fact and has an impact on all of us. The climate crisis is complex, but the solution is simple: action. The 1% for the Planet organization is a proof of that! Because when we all decide to do something - at least a little more, then these small collective actions eventually lead to change!
